Patty Ruth “Pat” Ward, 73, of Arnold, formerly of Poplar Bluff, died July 21, 2017, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Ward was a homemaker and a member of Canaan Baptist Church in St. Louis County, where she had devoted herself to serving as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir and in missionary work. She graduated from Poplar Bluff High School and enjoyed sewing and doing volunteer work. As a licensed clown, she was well known for bringing joy and laughter on special occasions. Born May 20, 1944, in Poplar Bluff, she was the daughter of the late Eldon and Hettie (Huskey) Osborn.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years: William Jesse Ward; three children: William Scotty Ward of Gonzales, La., Patricia JoAnn (Terry) Kite of Arnold and Janice Dawn (Mike) Gibbons of Robertsville; three grandchildren: Shane and Sydney Ward and Kaela Kite; and a multitude of other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Cody Crocker and Trevor Ward; a sister, Phyllis Temple; and a brother, Homer Osborn.
A memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at the West Side Church of God, 2807 Channon Road, in Poplar Bluff. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Cottrell funeral Service in Poplar Bluff.
