Hoffman, Glen

Patrick “Glen” Hoffman, Sr., 72, of Hillsboro died Aug. 30, 2014, at Hillcrest Nursing Center in De Soto. Mr. Hoffman was a truck driver with the CB handle “Hoss.” In his early years, he worked setting up St. Louis area carnivals. He enjoyed dancing, the music of Elvis Presley and riding motorcycles. Born April 28, 1942, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Leotha (Kiger) and Robert G. Hoffman.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Mary E. (Cathey) Hoffman, whom he married Aug. 15, 1964 in Cahokia, Ill. He is also survived by one daughter: Sherry Ann (Jeff) Ruesch of St. Louis; two sons: Patrick G. (Janey) Hoffman Jr. of De Soto and David Wayne Hoffman of Hillsboro; one granddaughter: Amy (Marcus) Long; one great-granddaughter: Leila Rose; two sisters: Delores Taylor of Gerald and Virgina Ramers of California; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Hoffman and Billy Hoffman; and one grandson: Daniel Russell.

Visitation is Tuesday, Sept. 2 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
