Patricia M. Evans, 82, of Vichy died Nov. 13, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Evans was a homemaker but also had jobs as a factory worker, a cook and a caregiver. She played the guitar and piano by ear and enjoyed music, crafts, painting, ceramics, crocheting and sewing, and she made her daughter's clothes. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. Born March 21, 1937, in Banner, she was the daughter of the late Trula Esther Fryman and Gentry Willard Hutchings.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Odell Leland Evans, whom she married on Aug. 4, 1956, in St. Louis.
She is survived by three daughters: Pam Jackson of Desloge, Beverly (Dean) Morris of Pevely and Debbie Patrick of Vichy; an ex-son-in-law: Brian Patrick of House Springs; six siblings: Geraldine (Jerry) King of Berryman, Betty (Curt) Lefler of Berryman, Donna Tittsworth of Steelville, Sonny (Mary) Hutchings of Steelville, Edward (Sandy) Robertson of Steelville and Jess Evans of Effingham, Ill.; five sisters-in-law: Marilyn (Dale) Benson of St. James, Glenna Dicus of Desloge, Mattie Evans of Potosi, Pat Evans of Festus and Karen Hutchings of Cuba; 12 grandchildren: Deanna (Paul), Brenda (Chuck), Patricia, Peter, Isabel, Charlie (Melissa), Odell (April), Melissa, Sonya, Susan, Diane (Patrick) and Crystal; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by her parents-in-law: Roy and Edna Evans; three sisters: Wanda Hawkins, Lorene Ogzwalla and Charlene Amburgy; a brother: Rick Hutchings; three brothers-in-law: Lavern Evans, Olin Evans and Darald Evans; a son-in-law: Kenny Jackson; and an infant grandson: David Timothy Evans.
Visitation will be from noon until the funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Hutson Funeral Home, 601 W. Main St., in Steelville, officiated by Bro. Charles Jackson. Burial will be in Shoal Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home.
