Patricia A. Ortmeyer, 73, of Lenexa, Kan., died Dec. 24, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Ortmeyer was a 1962 graduate of Festus High School and worked at Southwestern Bell in St. Louis. She was an active volunteer with her children’s activities, serving as PTA president. When her children were older, she worked at Radke and Hannah Orthodontics and State Farm Insurance, retiring when her grandchildren came along. She enjoyed traveling, reading and socializing with her neighborhood bunko group and her water aerobics and Curves friends. She was born Aug. 18, 1944, in Festus, the daughter of the late Jerry and Rita Overberg.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years: Steve Ortmeyer; three children: Jay Ortmeyer, Craig (Summer) Ortmeyer and Tracy (Jeremy) Warren, all of Lenexa; two granddaughters: Avery and Abigail Warren; seven siblings: Rick (Norma) Overberg of Festus, John (Sandy) Overberg of Pevely, Peggy (Bill) Herrell of Pevely, Jerry (Rhonda) Overberg of Festus, Cindy (John Bliss) Laiben of Imperial, Mary (Bruce) King of Herculaneum and Shelley (Chuck) Otec of Crystal City; a sister-in-law: Judy (Larry) Scrivner; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Kenny Overberg.
Funeral Mass was held Dec. 29 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Shawnee, Kan. Memorials may be made to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 204 Norwood, NJ 07648. Arrangements were under the direction of Porter Funeral Home in Lenexa.
