Clara Faye Henson, 81, of Bonne Terre died Aug. 6, 2024. Ms. Henson worked as a secretary for the UA Local 562 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union before she retired. She then worked for the national parks, where she traveled all around the country. She was a member of the House of Praise Church of God in Desloge. She also loved her cats, crafts, plants, traveling and, most importantly, spending time with her family and friends. Born April 19, 1943, in Allerton, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Lillian S. (Beasley) Schilling.
She is survived by a daughter: Angela (Randy) O'Neail of Valles Mines, a son: Jeff S. Henson of De Soto; a brother: Donald (Ellen) Schilling of Lebanon, Ill.; a sister: Cleona (the late John) Thurmond of Libby, Mont.; four granddaughters: Shannon (Lucas) Lehde of Evansville, Ill., Jackie (Caleb) Singleton of Union, Jessica (Duane) Singleton of Festus and Kelsey (Sarah) Brock of St. Peters; a grandson: Colten Henson of Bonne Terre; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband: Anthony "Tony" Henson; and a grandson: Eric O'Neail.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today, Aug. 12, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the funeral home, officiated by Caleb Singleton and Jay O'Neail. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto.
