Virginia R. Morris, 81, of De Soto died Aug. 16, 2023, in De Soto. Mrs. Morris was a church secretary. Born May 16, 1942, in Marmaduke, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Galen and Sarah Oradean (Storie) Gossett.
She is survived by her husband: Charles E. Morris; two children: Lonnie Morris of Hillsboro and Tim (April) Morris of De Soto; a brother: Roger Gossett of Iron Mountain; a sister-in-law: Elaine Gossett of Pilot Knob; a brother-in-law: Victor McCracken of Byrnes Mill; four grandchildren: Daniel (Lindsey) Morris of Byrnes Mill, Amy (Eric) Mitchell of De Soto, Caleb (Madison) Morris of De Soto and Kylie Morris of De Soto; and six great-grandchildren: Luke, Chloe, Aidyn, Malachi, Kensington and Oliver. She was preceded in death by a brother: Robin Gossett; and a sister: Vera McCracken.
Visitation is scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at First Assembly of God Church, 12635 Hwy. 21, in De Soto, officiated by Dan Gubitz, Troy Coke and Dwight Jones. Burial is in the Pendelton Cemetery in Doe Run. Memorials may be made to the Kid’s Church Camp Fund, c/o New Hope Fellowship, 4776 Hwy B, Hillsboro, 63050.
