Taylor, Olive

Olive Ann Taylor, 90, of Herculaneum died April 15, 2023, at her home. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker who also worked at Opal’s Cafe in Hillsboro and Crystal Doughnut Shop in Crystal City. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed going to flea markets, gardening and baking. Born April 23, 1932, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the Theodore and Blanche (Tucker) Bradford.

She is survived by her husband: James “Bud” Taylor; a son: Lanny Ray Dyle of Greenville two daughters: Georgina “Cissy” (William) Scanlon of De Soto and Lisa (Alan) Rickman of Cape Girardeau; a brother: Theodore “Buck” (Judy) Bradford of Festus; a half brother: Teddy (Mary Jo) Bradford of Festus; a half sister: Cathy Bradford of Festus; four grandchildren: David (Carrie) Bowling, Lindsay (Kevin) Donnelly, Jeff Scanlon and Steven (Hannah) Scanlon; and five great-grandchildren: Ayden, Dane, Grace, Samuel and Noah. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Pete Bradford and Ed (Thelma) Bradford; and a great-grandson: Caleb Scanlon.

Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday, April 24, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Burial is in the Bradford Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. Taylor’s great-grandson, Caleb. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
