Clemens, Linda

Linda Diane Clemens, 71, of Herculaneum died Sept. 15, 2023, at her home. Ms. Clemens graduated from Festus High School and Miss Hickey’s School of Business before embarking on a 50-year career as a top administrative assistant at Nestlé Purina’s pet food department, a job she loved because of the co-workers who became her lifelong friends. She loved to read murder/mystery books and read more than 8,000 books over the course of her lifetime. She also loved swimming, lying by the pool, traveling with family and sitting in her recliner watching Survivor, Big Brother and The Bachelor. She loved her rescue cats and dogs and, most of all, spending time with her granddaughters. Born June 3, 1952, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Millie (Mack) Engelhardt of Festus and the late Lawrence Engelhardt. She was preceded in death by her former husband and forever love: Richard Clemens.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two children: Rio (fiance Kyle Stines) Clemens and Richard (wife Brittany) Clemens II; two granddaughters: Kylie Clemens and Kinsley Stines; two sisters Rebecca Flynn and Michelle Engelhardt, both of Festus; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Ed Flynn.

Funeral services were private. Burial was in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City.  Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of St. Louis or to Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
