Wilson, Kristopher

Kristopher Thomas “Kris” Wilson, 34, of Warrensburg died Sept. 10, 2023. Mr. Wilson spent his childhood years in the Twin Cities and was a 2008 graduate of Festus High School, where he was involved in many extracurricular activities such as baseball, football, choir and band. He was a volunteer firefighter and an active member of his church youth group. He attended Jefferson College in Hillsboro before moving across the state to Warrensburg.

Mr. Wilson developed a love for cars, motorcycles, ATVs and boats as a young man and was a talented mechanic who spent many hours repairing engines. He was a fan of the Cardinals and the Blues as well as the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed going to the lake and spending time with his dog, Axel. Born April 7, 1989, in Festus, he was the son of Kathryn (Stanley) Tripp and Rodney (Danellie) Wilson.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers: Kurtis (Ashley) and Gabriel Wilson; his grandmother: Doyne Wilson; his bonus grandparents: Brenda Hatcher and Larry (Carolyn) Hatcher; a bonus great-grandmother: Lois Hatcher; a sister: Amanda (Jonathan) Hillyard;

a brother: Allen Tripp; three nieces: Aurora and Teagan Willson and Alexa Harder; a nephew: Jude Harder; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by two grandparents: Linda Wilson and Charles Wilson; a bonus grandfather: William Tripp; and a bonus great-grandmother: Geraldine Corder.

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 3 p.m. until a memorial service at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Drive, in Festus. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
