Joyce Elaine Pazdera, 65, of Festus died Aug. 12, 2023, at de Greeff Hospice House in south St. Louis County. Mrs. Pazdera worked in management for Walmart stores in Springfield, Desloge and De Soto, where she met and married her husband. They founded K.A. Pazdera Hauling and later M.J. Pazdera Hauling. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City and the Twin City Area Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Sarasota, Fla., and spending time with her grandchildren. Born Nov. 2, 1957, in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Loomis) Schneider and Jessie Knight.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years: Kim A. Pazdera; a son: Michael J. (Halie) Pazdera of Festus; a daughter: Kimberly Ann (Jacob) Scholle of Odessa; two sisters: Janice Thomas of Springfield and Karen (Steve) Letterman of Springfield; two brothers: Jim (Deena) Knight of Springfield and Randy (Joyce) Knight of Springfield; and five grandchildren: Eliza and Nolan Scholle and Lane, Owen and Kash Pazdera.
She was preceded in death by a brother: J.D. (the late Beverly) Knight; a stepfather: Gene Schneider; and a brother-in-law: Herb Thomas.
Private family services. Memorials may be made to St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
