Voyles, Joseph

Joseph H. “Joe” Voyles, 82, of De Soto died April 16, 2023, at his home. Mr. Voyles was the owner of J and L Trenching, and also worked for the Jones Company and Hammer Concrete. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 513. Born Feb. 2, 1941, in Mountain View, he was the son of the late Thelma (Patterson) and Robert Voyles.

He is survived by his wife: Jane (Nicholson) Voyles of De Soto; two children: Nick Voyles and Jeff (Nikki) Voyles, both of Richwoods; two sisters: Janet (Raymond) Click of Richwoods and Rosemary (Allen) Morris of Farmington; three brothers: Norman Voyles of Hillsboro, Kenneth (Becky) Voyles of Gales Ferry, Conn., and Larry (Becky) Voyles of De Soto; a grandson: Cody Voyles; and three great-grandchildren: Bentley, Camile and Daxton.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Martin Voyles; a sister: Joan Voyles; three half sisters: Lorine Voyles, Betty Voyles and Bonnie Voyles; and three half brothers: Clyde Voyles, Melvin Voyles and Donald Voyles.

Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Brother Bob Thebeau. Burial is in the Horine Cemetery in Richwoods. Memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
