Jett, Jesse

Jesse Phillip Jett, 74, of Fenton died Aug. 14, 2023, at his home. Mr. Jett was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as a carpenter and millwright until his retirement. He was a Christian who enjoyed going to church and singing. He loved music, dancing, the roses he grew, traveling, fishing and camping, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was born on Nov. 29, 1948, in St. Louis, the son of the late Sylvia (Baker) and Herman Jett Sr.

He is survived by three children: Phillip David Jett of Arnold, Tammy (Doug) Merkle of St. Louis and Angela (Mark) Brunick of Spring, Texas; five grandchildren: Hayden Jett, Jacob Bridges, Joshua Jett, Kylin Brunick and Brock Brunick; three sisters: Shirley (Robert) Raines, Darlene Kirby) Schicker and Robin (Patrick) Thurman; two brothers Herman (Patsy) Jett Jr. and Francis (Carol) Jett; as well as many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Matthew, George and Thomas Jett; and one grandson: Phillip Steven Jett.

Mr. Jett chose to be cremated. His family will scatter his ashes over a number of different sites in honor of his adventurousness.  Arrangements were under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
