Gilbert John Moser III, 64, of Hillsboro died June 27, 2023, at his home. Mr. Moser enjoyed listening to music, singing and songwriting. He is remembered as a social butterfly and loved spending time with his family and friends. Born March 21, 1959, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Linda (Govero) and Gilbert John Moser Jr.
He is survived by three children: Gilbert John (Mindy) Moser IV of Climax Springs, Nichole (Robert) Smith of Festus and Brock (Kailyn) Moser of Hillsboro; three siblings: Jeffrey (Yvonne) Moser of Festus, Wesley (Bonnie) Moser of Bonne Terre and Rose Mary (Philip) Jones of Hillsboro; 11 grandchildren: Dylan (Robin Friedmeyer) Moser, Trenton Moser, Mason Arnett, Peyton Moser, Collin Smith, James Smith, Jackson Smith, Lane Teddleton, Lawson Reichert, Eden Skiles and Viola Moser; and one great-grandchild: Renn Moser, with another on the way. He was preceded in death by an infant brother: Joseph Moser.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 N. Main, in Festus. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 703 Third Street, in Hillsboro, officiated by Father Weber. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the American Liver Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
