William Joseph “Joe” Couch, 84, of Festus died April 23, 2025, at Fountain Bleau Nursing Center in Festus. Mr. Couch retired as an operator for the Missouri National Guard. Born April 1, 1941, in Fletcher, he was the son of the late Willie and Betty (Christian) Couch.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Margaret “Jackie” (Miller) Couch.
He is survived by five children: David (Wendy) Couch of Milton, Fla., Daniel (DeWitt) Couch of Columbia, Karey (Vern) Couch of Fulton, Kimberly Couch of Fulton and Dale (Mary) Couch of Cedar Hill; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a close friend: Regina Casey of Hillsboro.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter: Kelly Couch; a sister: Helen Marie Couch; and two brothers: James Couch and Raymond Couch.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 p.m. until services at 7 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by Mike Elfrank. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
