William James Thornhill, 45, of Hillsboro died Jan. 14, 2026. Mr. Thornhill was a security officer at SSM Hospital. Born April 17, 1980, in St. Louis, he was the son of Janey (Ledbetter) Ferante of Herculaneum and the late William Thornhill.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: Jessica (Keim) Thornhill of Hillsboro; four children: Gabrielle (Michael Sechrest-Groves) Thornhill, Grace Thornhill, Jonathan Thornhill and Adam Thornhill; two grandchildren: Paisley and Grayson; a sister: Lisa (Jason) Uzzle of Hillsboro; a niece: Bella; a nephew: Kyle.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Mandy Thornhill.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a memorial service at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Terry Crank. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
