Beckett, Wayne

Wayne Stanley Beckett, 72, of Festus died Aug. 19, 2024, at his home. Mr. Beckett was a member of Our Lady’s Catholic Church of Festus. He served in the U.S. Army where he was in the 48th Medical Battalion 2nd Armored Division. He graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy and worked as a registered pharmacist (R.Ph.) for 41 years until retiring in 2013. He enjoyed history, World War II aircraft, his 1956 Ford Thunderbird and St. Louis Blues Hockey. Above all else, he was known for his generosity. Born Sept. 24, 1951, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Stanley Oscar and Theresa Annabelle (Primo) Beckett.

He is survived by his wife: Theresa J. (Regelsperger) Beckett; two daughters: Holly E. Beckett and Kristina M. (Nate) Berens; a stepson: Tony S. (Jennifer) Sanders; a grandson: Johnathan W. Beckett; two granddaughters: Alexis M. Sanders and Emma G. Sanders; a sister: Marilyn Shelton; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his first wife: Marcia (England) Beckett; and a brother: Ronald R. Beckett.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Drive, in Festus. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, Festus, officiated by Father Steve. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul or Wounded Warriors. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
