Wanda Faye Malone, 91, of Cedar Hill died Feb. 6, 2025, in Festus. Mrs. Malone was a Christian and was raised Pentecostal. She was previously employed by Superior Tool & Die and Ritepoint Pen but took pride in being a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 296 in Pacific. Her hobbies included embroidering, crocheting, making and altering clothes, making jewelry and painting concrete figures. She will be remembered for saying “I love you” to those she cared about whenever possible. Born Dec. 13, 1933, in Hector, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Neoma (Darter) and Archie Whorton Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Joe Wayne Malone, whom she married on July 3, 1950.
She is survived by five children: Alan (Faye) Malone Sr., Althea (Keith) Christopher, Beverly (Gary) Douglas, Keith (Laura) Malone and Rhonda (John Jr.) Mathis; 14 grandchildren: Alan (Jessica) Malone Jr., Jason Malone, Linda (Mike) Barga, Dawn Pippin of the late Keith Dale Jr., Kyle (Brittany) Christopher, Michael (Brandon) Meyer Jr., Sarah (Clinton) Boyd, Angel Wedig, Reanna (Mike) Mayberry, Amanda (Eric) Middendorf, Andrea Ahearn, Ashley (Jeff) Jones, Travis (Candis) Mathis and Britne (Dean) Stein; a special friend: Marge Bourisaw; 27 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers: Archie Whorton Jr. and Gene Whorton; four sisters: Gladys Robertson, Edith Sallee, Flo Peterson and Betty Smith; and a grandson: Keith Dale Christopher Jr.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. Feb. 22, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, 530 E. Springfield Road, in St Clair. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Russell Colonial Funeral Home.
