Harlow, Walter

Walter "Rick" Harlow, 76, of De Soto, died June 27, 2025, at his home. Mr. Harlow was a heavy equipment mechanic for Wiese Planning & Engineering. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, farming, tractors, reading and spending time with his grandkids. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and Automotive Local 777. Born April 17, 1949, in Yankeetown, Ind., he was the son of the late Carmen Malee (Wangler) and Walter Maxey Harlow.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Pamela Aldena Harlow.

He is survived by two sons: Erick (Denise) Harlow of Festus and Todd (Kelly) Harlow of De Soto; a daughter: Michelle (Ricky Joe) Hart of Newburgh, Ind.; three brothers: Michael (Barbara) Harlow of Kokomo, Ind., Robin (Deb) Harlow of Junction City, Kan., and David (Robin) Harlow of Hillsboro; two sisters: Marguerita (Dale) Malin of Hillsboro and Carol (Mike) Bequette of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren: Justin (Terra) Hart, Ryan Hart, Erik (Jessica) Harlow, Alexandra (Todd) Montgomery, Pamela Harlow, Suzanna Harlow and Alden Harlow; nine great-grandchildren: Kaleb, Emma, Bentley, Mary, Claire, Isabella, Tristan, Ella and Bearett; and numerous family members and friends.

He also was preceded in death by a great-grandson: Austyn Walburn.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until services at noon Wednesday, July 2, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Erick Harlow. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD, 21741, or Serenity Hospice Care, 5272 Flat River Road, Park Hills, 63601. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
