Virginia Lee (Breville) Goede, 91, of Fenton died March 20, 2026, at Garden View Care Center in Fenton. A lifelong resident of Fenton, Mrs. Goede lived on the same piece of land her entire life. She worked for Commerce Bank for many years and later became the co-owner of The Jewelry Connection, Inc. in Fenton. She was instrumental in starting the St. Clare Hospital Auxiliary and served as president for 10 years. She was an active member of the Fenton Chamber of Commerce, the Fenton Historical Society, the Ballwin Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and many other masonic-affiliated organizations. She was the local Bethel guardian of Bethel 43 Job’s Daughter International and had served the state of Missouri as grand guardian and grand secretary for many years. Born July 5, 1934, in Fenton, she was the daughter of the late Mary Virginia Murray and Stanley Breville.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Lionel J. Goede.
She is survived by two sons: Gary (Donna) Goede and Wayne (Julie) Goede; three grandchildren: Heather (Scott) Gander, Kelly (Steven) Dunn and James Goede; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous other family members, friends and associates.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. with an Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. Monday, March 23, at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, 777 Oakwood Drive, in Fenton. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Hearing Improvement Kids Empowerment Fund, Inc. or Open Door Animal Sanctuary in House Springs. Arrangements are under the direction of Jay B. Smith Funeral Home.
