Wilson, Velma

Velma R. (Heiligtag) Wilson, 94, of Pevely died Jan. 6, 2025, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Crystal City. Ms. Wilson owned Eco-Robic Products in Antonia and was a member of Grace Communion International Church of Hillsboro, the St. Louis Pooka Club and the American Czech Educational Center. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing and singing karaoke. Born Sept. 6, 1930, in Moss Hollow, she was the daughter of the late Ida (Glass) and William Heiligtag.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years: Harold Wilson, whom she married on Dec. 22, 1952, in Arkansas.

She is survived by a niece and nephew who were also her caregivers: Donna Clonts and Randy Reissing; and many other family members and friends.

She also was preceded in death by her daughter: Tami Jane Wilson; three sisters: Leona Reissing, Vernita Reiner and Vera Fry; and a brother: Raymond Heiligtag.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
