Tressia Gale (Fox) Mathews, 65, of Pevely died March 29, 2025. Mrs. Mathews worked as a retail manager and was a member of the Amvets Post 42 Ladies Auxiliary. She was well known in her community. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her warm hugs, huge smile and for having a meal for those who entered her home. Born April 16, 1959, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Pearlie Paralee Fox and Leroy E. Fox.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years: John R. “Johnny Ray” Mathews of Pevely; two children: Shonda A. Jenkins of Hillsboro and Jennifer L. (James) Rogers of Pevely; three grandchildren: Baden Mathews of Pevely, Wyatt Costlow of Pevely and Nevaeh Mathews of Pevely; six siblings: Buddy (Debra) Fox of St. Louis, Barbara (Louis) Royer of Farmington, Genie (Robert) Lyndsey of Farmington, Mark (Tonya) Fox of St. Louis, John Fox of Pevely and Linda (Randy) Brents of St. Louis; her honorary son: James Pille of Hillsboro; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a grandson: Daniel James Griffith; and a sibling: Pennie G. Fox.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Amvets Post 42, 555 Joachim Ave., in Herculaneum. Memorials may be made to the Amvets Post 42 Ladies Auxiliary.
