Swafford, Travis

Travis Wayne Swafford, 49, of Festus died Feb. 25, 2026, in St. Louis. Mr. Swafford worked as a regional branch manager at Wells Fargo for 26 years, where he was known for his dedication, leadership and kindness. He volunteered with Stray Rescue and was an active member of the Festus-Crystal City Elks Lodge 1721. He was devoted to his faith. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and woodburning. He enjoyed art, music and the Las Vegas Raiders. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, loyalty and smile. Born Sept. 16, 1976, in Festus, he was the son of Joseph Dale and Judith Lee (Edwards) Swafford of Hillsboro. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 24 years: Valerie Dawn Swafford of Festus; two sons: Devon Swafford of Festus and Hunter Swafford of Festus; a sister: Shelly (Gary) Blucker of Festus; a nephew: Logan Blucker of Festus; his mother-in-law: Debbie Huffman of Festus; a sister-in-law: Mindy (Mike) Imfeld of Bloomsdale; two brothers-in-law: Dennis Huffman of Festus and Jason (Mendy) Huffman of Festus; and numerous other family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law: Mark Huffman. 

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Drive, in Festus. Memorials may be made to A Fighting Chance, 119 Pampano Lane, St. Charles, 63301, or at afightingchancefoundation.net. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
