Terry L. Watson Sr., 86, of St. Louis died Feb. 7, 2025. Mr. Watson served as a Boy Scout leader for Troop 894 for more than a decade. He was a board member for Peace Pantry and a counselor for Burn Camp. During his 15-year tenure with the Cedar Hill Fire Department, he served as chaplain. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, riding horses and, most of all, spending time with family. He was known for his adventurous spirit and his warmth, compassion and generosity towards others. Born Sept. 10, 1938, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Leslie and Margaret (Kelly) Watson.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Carol Watson.
He is survived by three children: Rick L. (Debbie) Watson Sr., Kelly (Bobby) Swann and Chris (Trisha) Watson; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
He also was preceded in death by a sister: Marie Fox.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Chapel Hill Mortuary–Robert Brown Chapel, 103 S. 4th St., in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to St. Martin’s UCC in Dittmer or BackStoppers. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary-Robert Brown Chapel.
