Terry Elaine McClanahan, 76, of Pevely died Aug. 22, 2026, at her home. Ms. McClanahan owned and operated T.E.M. Resale Shop in De Soto and worked at the Save-A-Lot Store in De Soto and the Pevely Racetrack. She was devoted to her friends and family, and in her spare time she was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. Born Nov. 8, 1949, in Valles Mines, she was the daughter of the late Charles Cantrell and Thelma (Kite) Cantrell Britt.
She is survived by four children: LeRoy (Elsa) McClanahan Jr. of Hillsboro, Michael (Carmen) Beck of Pevely, Timothy (Amiee) Beck of Festus and Matthew (Jessica) McClanahan of Fenton; 14 grandchildren: Alyssa, Kayli, Joelle, Carmen, Raelyn, Michael, Eliana, Blake, William, Jessica, Nathan, Julia, Gwendalyn and Elanor; seven siblings: Carol Shepherd of Hillsboro, Debrah Cates of Hillsboro, Patricia LaPlant of Hillsboro, Kimberly Shrewsbury of McLouth, Kan., Tina Snowden of Zion, Ill., Charles Cantrell of Florissant and Daniel Duncan of Barnhart; numerous nieces and nephews; her longtime companion: John McKlin; John’s son: Mark (Athena) McKlin; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband: LeRoy Joseph McClanahan Sr.; two sisters: Bertha Keener and Connie Allen; a brother: Ronald Duncan; and John’s son: Nicholas McKlin.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at noon Sunday, Aug. 30, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Adam Sloggett. Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
