
Teonna G. Costello, 60, of Crystal City died Jan. 27, 2025, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Devoted to her faith, Mrs. Costello was a member of the First Christian Church of Hematite. She worked as a sales associate for Marshall’s department store in the Twin City Mall. She was a caregiver and was known for her big heart. She loved caring for her dog, Lucy. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her son, Cody, race and cooking with her son, Ryan. Born June 28, 1964, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Roger Sutton of Arcadia and the late Jane (Forrester) Sutton.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband: Jeffrey L. Costello; four children: Ryan (Cindy) Costello of Monroe City, Cody Schanz of Crystal City, Nathan (Crystal) Costello of Antonia and Bethany (Jess) Shrum of House Springs; seven siblings: Lisa (Greg) Killian of Hillsboro, Brigitte (Scott Cawvey) Renae of De Soto, Richard Forrester of Herculaneum, Kevin (Angie) Sutton of Festus, Reonna Diodati of Pennsylvania, Nonna Seaborn of Pennsylvania and Stan Skakalski of Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren: Cassidy Costello, Lyla Maupin, Darren Ahrens, Andrew Ahrens and Christopher Ahrens.
Visitation is scheduled from 2- 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. An additional visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at First Christian Church of Hematite, 3711 Hwy. P, in Festus, officiated by Pastor Phil Bradford. Burial will follow in Sandy Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
