Susan Elaine Trueblood, 78, of Rolla died June 9, 2026. Mrs. Trueblood was a Sunday School teacher for primary grades at First United Methodist Church and served as superintendent for many years. On SAT nights, she would enter every classroom and pray for those children. She was also the Earl Cunningham Christian Educator of the year for half of Missouri in the 1990s. Additionally, she was active in the Weight Watchers community, having become a meeting leader after reaching her goal weight. She enjoyed cooking and experimenting with original recipes; she submitted recipes in cooking contests and won several times, including a prize of five major kitchen appliances. Most of all, she loved spending time with friends and family. She will be remembered for her smile and warmth. Born March 3, 1948, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Martin G. Spiller and Capitola G. (Oliver) Spiller. She was the stepdaughter of the late Norman Pedigo.
She is survived by her husband: Max Trueblood of Rolla, whom she married on Jan. 7, 1978, in Hillsboro; three sons: James Michael (Trish) Trueblood of St. Louis, Wesley Earl (Ann) Trueblood of Baltimore, Md., and Joshua Thomas (Crystal) Holloway of Fort Bragg, N.C.; a brother: Martin G. “Spike” Spiller of De Soto; seven grandchildren: Daniel Cherry, Jaden Willey, Henry Trueblood, Nora Trueblood, Morgan Holloway, Kyson Holloway and Gavin Holloway; and one great-grandchildren: Nova.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Gail and Meredith.
Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at Null and Son Funeral Home, 1010 Kingshighway, in Rolla. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, at First United Methodist Church, 803 N. Main, in Rolla, 65401. Burial will follow in Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Rolla. Arrangements are under the direction of Null and Sons Funeral Home.
