Steven Louis Yount, 67, of Dittmer died Oct. 3, 2023. Mr. Yount enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was a man who enjoyed a hands-on approach to life and was known for being able to fix anything. He loved spending time with his family, helping others and sharing his knowledge. Born Oct. 19, 1955, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Maybelle (Welker) and Leon Yount.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Karen (Merrill) Yount; a son Joseph (Michelle) Yount; four grandchildren: Davon, Gracie, Caroline and Callie Yount; two siblings: Pam (Yount) Swaringim and Paul Yount; as well as many other family members and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his son: Steven Louis Yount II; and two siblings: Patricia (Yount) Coffman and Peggy Yount.
A celebration of life service is scheduled from 1-5 p.m. Saturday Nov. 4, at the Cedar Hill VFW, 1 Lynn Lane.
