Stephen Charles Dumbauld, 69, of De Soto died Jan. 11, 2026. Mr. Dumbauld served in the U.S. Navy, where he was known for his strong sense of duty and love for his nation. Following his military service, he worked for many years at Home Service Oil Co. in Barnhart. He enjoyed being outdoors, tending to his garden, fishing and, most of all, spending time with his family, friends and pets. Born Sept. 25, 1956, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Georgia Louise Tremayne and Charles Earl Dumbauld.
He is survived by two daughters: Kimberly Ann Dumbauld of Assumption, Ill., and Stacey Storms of California; a grandson: Dezsyl Ray Fringer of Illinois; and a granddaughter: Furie Cyan Fringer of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Lynn Politte.
Services are private. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army of Jefferson County, 3740 Telegraph Road, Arnold, 63010. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
