Shirley Fay Brown, 75, of De Soto died Jan. 10, 2026, at Mercy Hospital-Southeast in Cape Girardeau. Ms. Brown worked in the kitchen at several area restaurants and nursing homes. She was a lifelong member of the First Assembly of God Church in De Soto, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also an animal lover. Born May 11, 1950, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Vonda “Bonnie” (Livengood) Brown.
She is survived by her brother-in-law: Bill Thomas; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Patricia Brown Ditch and Judy Thomas.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., officiated by Troy Coke. Interment will be in Elmwood-Brown Cemetery in Lonedell. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
