Shirley F. Boyer, 86, of De Soto died Jan. 17, 2025. Mrs. Boyer was a homemaker. She also was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Columbian Anns and an honorary member of Amvets Post 48 Ladies Auxiliary. Born Aug. 20, 1938, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Goldie (Johnston) Butler.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Emanuel J. Boyer, whom she married on Jan. 21, 1956, in Hernando, Miss.
She is survived by three children: Patty Roth of Valley Park, Terrie (Charlie) Brown of De Soto and Kenneth (Cherlynn) Boyer of De Soto; eight grandchildren: Nathan (Sandy) Harris, Amanda (Alan) Hester, Nichole (Eddie) Walker, Matthew (Christine) Brown, Jerrick Preuss, Joshua (Laura) Preuss, Ashlee (Jesse) Francis and Sarah (Cody) Stacy; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son-in-law: John Roth; and a sister: Doris Hamel.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the funeral home, officiated by Deacon Ed Boyer. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in De Soto.
