Shirley A. Gardner, 85, of De Soto died March 12, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Born Jan. 15, 1939, in Hickman, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Homer Carlton and Gracie Lee (Hicks) Malone.
She is survived by her husband: Earl J. Gardner of De Soto; eight children: Clayton E. (Corrine) Gardner of Barnhart, Roxanne (Bobby) Hannah of Fayetteville, Ill., Brenda (Mark) Barnett of De Soto, Loretta M. Gardner of De Soto, Charlotte (Toby) Turnbough of Fenton, Carlton (Stephanie Midgett) Gardner of De Soto, Amy (Michael) Zimmerli of Farmington and Cindy (William) Ferrendelli of Yukon, Okla.; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother: George Carlton (Wilma) Malone.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by Chris Goodman. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
