Sheila Lynn Shelton, 74, of Imperial died Aug. 30, 2024, in St. Louis. Mrs. Shelton was a homemaker, band mom, seamstress and school cafeteria worker. She loved nature and was known for her excellent cooking. She also was of the Christian faith. Born Sept. 22, 1949, in Olney, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Joan (Crawford) Burgess and Volney Burgess. She was the stepdaughter of the late Lillian Burgess.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years: Russell Shelton of Imperial; three children: Rodney, Kimberly and Brenda; six grandchildren: Joshua, Brandie, Samantha, Abigail, Ella and Alexander; a half-sibling: Christina; three stepsiblings: Robert, Gilbert and Barbara; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sibling: Randall.
Visitation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5225 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
