Shawn Paul Ponder, 58, of Festus died Jan. 4, 2026, at his home. Mr. Ponder was an employee of Buffs RV and had a lifelong passion for racing. Most of all, he loved spending time with friends and family. Born June 15, 1967, he was the son of Patricia Ponder and the late Zeke Ponder.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Lena Ponder.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter: Morgan Ponder; a stepson: Jesse (Teresa) Pehele; two step-grandchildren: Payton Pehele and Kamryn Pehele; a brother: Joe Ponder; a niece: Shannon (Ben) Stum and her daughter, Kelsey Stum; a nephew: Matthew Ponder (Leah) and his son, Cale Ponder; and many cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Festus American Legion, 849 American Legion Drive, in Festus. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
