Sandra Kay Helms, 79, of Pevely died Sept. 28, 2025, at her home. Mrs. Helms was a member of Festus Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed music, playing the piano for the church and spending time with her friends and family. She will be remembered for her loving and sweet spirit. Born March 30, 1946, in St. Francois County, she was the daughter of Betty (Coffman) Greene and the late James Greene.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 60 years: Fred Helms; two sons and two daughters-in-law: Chad Helms (Shannon) of Crystal City and Mathew Helms (Heather) of Imperial; two grandchildren: Caleb (Kylie) Wilkerson and Annie (James) Jones; three great-grandchildren: Harper, Eleanor and James; a brother: Nick (Mary) Greene; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Shelly Tiefenauer; and a daughter: Gina Wilkerson (Ted) Cassimatis.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
