Sandra Jean Murphy, 75, of St. Louis died April 26, 2026. Ms. Murphy worked for Misti Media, where she was an editor and publisher of books. She also wrote many magazine articles on the care of animals, which was her passion. She took care of cats and dogs, and even trained a few to dance, which they would perform at nursing homes for the people’s enjoyment. Born Sept. 2, 1950, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Murphy and Loretta (Mack) Murphy.
She is survived by a sister: Debra Daw of Greenville, Texas; a brother: Bryan (Tavia) Murphy of Byrnes Mill; four nephews: Jesse Daw, Jeremy Daw, Jonathan (Helene) Daw and Phillip Daw; a niece: Jennah (Jeff) Jahn; several great-nephews and great-nieces; and numerous cousins and friends.
Services will be private. Memorials may be made to any animal shelter or pet charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
