Sandra Diane Proffer-Overberg, 78, of Crystal City died May 20, 2024, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis. Born Sept. 18, 1945, in Los Angeles County, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Mabel (Timeson) and John Kelley.
She was preceded in death by her first husband: Robert L. Proffer; and second husband: Jerome Overberg.
She is survived by two children: Robert Lynn (Mary) Proffer II of Festus and Debra Denise (Bill Green) Proffer of Lake Cormorant, Miss.; a sister: Debra (Stewart) Hall of West Virginia; two grandchildren: Madison Proffer and Sydney Proffer; and her second husband’s children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Susie (the late John) Koning and Sharon Kelley.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Sacred Heart Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City, officiated by Father Stephen Lian. Burial will take place in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
