Sandra Ann “Sandy” Paul, 79, of De Soto died Nov. 11, 2023, in her home. Ms. Paul retired from the Kroger Grocery Store in De Soto, she then went to work for Washington University and later for COMTREA in their insurance billing department. Born Oct. 28, 1944, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Daisy (Eaton) Arndt.
She was preceded in death by her longtime companion: John Maness.
She is survived by two children: Stephanie (John) Kitchell of De Soto and Larry Paul of Bonne Terre; three grandchildren: Andrew Kitchell, Matthew (Beth) Kitchell and Amber Harris; two great-grandchildren: Hudson Kitchell and Haylie Harris; a caregiver and companion: Lorrie Payne of Pevely; as well as many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by three sisters: Edith I. “Mitzi” (Byron survives) Byers, Muriel (Everett) Rupkey and Mary Jo Arndt; three brothers: Leroy (Rose survives) Arndt, Allen “Budz” (Arlene) Arndt and Louis “Duck” (Ellen survives) Arndt; and a stepbrother: Bob (Bert) Arndt.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the funeral home’s chapel, officiated by Gene Moses. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
