Stiller, Russell 'Rusty'

Russell Lee “Rusty” Stiller, 54, of Festus died March 10, 2026, at his home. Mr. Stiller grew up on a farm and learned about hard work and family values. He served in the U.S. Army during Operation Desert Storm. He was a member of Amvets 171, the Elks Lodge of Festus-Crystal City 1721 and VFW Post 3777, where he served as the senior vice commander. He enjoyed helping others and giving advice. He also enjoyed woodworking and fixing things. He loved being in the pool with his wife, listening to music, especially old Country music, while drinking a Budweiser Select. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, kindness, humor and the way he showed up for the people he cared about. Born Aug. 24, 1971, in Litchfield, Ill., he was the son of Judy (Stiller) Bartlett of Granite City, Ill.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: Danielle (Madina) Stiller, whom he married in 1992; two daughters: Taylor Stiller and Jordyn Stiller; and many friends, veterans and community members.

A celebration of life is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. with military honors at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 22, at VFW Post 3777, 900 VFW Drive, in Festus. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
