Ronnie Mabery, 79, of De Soto, formerly of Ironton, died March 1, 2026. Mr. Mabery worked at a sheltered workshop and participated in the Special Olympics. He was known for his warm smile and love for his family. He will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, sincerity and joy. Born Dec. 16, 1946, in Bonne Terre, he was the son of the late Velma (Govro) and Ralph Mabery.
He is survived by a brother: Bryan “Butch” (Becky) Mabery; a sister: Sharon (the late Ken) Belew; a brother-in-law: Clarence Kohut; a sister-in-law: Alice Mabery; more than 60 nieces and nephews; numerous great, great-great and great-great-great-nieces and nephews; many other family members and friends; and his former housemates: Tom Adams and Kelly Allen.
Preceded in death by brothers and their spouses: Leroy (Gladys and Frances) Mabery, Virgil (Roxie) Mabery, Bural (Nellie) Mabery, Emili Mabery, Roland (Betty) Mabery, Warren (Margie) Mabery and Melvin Mabery; sisters and their spouses: Juanita (Tom) Bradshaw, Norma Lee (Willard) Politte, Shirley (Tony) Conway, Olibell Mabery, Opal (Ivan) Griffin, Marcella (John) Nelms, Sandra (Mike) Scheffler, Christine (Walt) Welch, Hope Kohut and Margaret (James) Pyeatt.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, March 5, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
