Ronnie Harris Spencer, 68, of Crystal City died Dec. 28, 2025, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mr. Spencer served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a retired heavy equipment/industrial mechanic. He attended Second Baptist Church in Festus. He worked and volunteered at Kress Farm Garden Preserve and was an Ozark Food Pantry volunteer. He worked for Jerry German Rides off and on his entire life until its closing. There, Mr. Spencer considered Jerry and the carnival crew members to be like a second family. He loved spending time with his friends and family and was known as one of the nicest people you could meet. Born Nov. 15, 1957, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Wanda Dorothy (Copher) and Lincoln Harrison Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Karen Jo Spencer.
He is survived by a son: Nicholas E. Allen of Arnold; a sister: Tammy (David) Kleine of St. Louis; a brother: Joseph Hill of Poplar Bluff; and five grandchildren: Nick Jr. (Bubba), Mariah, Isaiah, Cierra and Isaac.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter: Christina Marie Allen; a sister: JoAnn Pinkley; and two brothers: David and Anthony Hill.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a memorial service at noon Saturday, Jan. 17, officiated by Pastor Matt Culbertson of Faith Baptist Church in Festus. A celebration of life will immediately follow until 4 p.m. at the Dew Drop. Memorials may be made to Kress Farm Garden Preserve, 5137 Glade Chapel Road, Hillsboro, 63050. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
