
Ronald Lee “Butch” Snyder Sr., 81, of Fenton died Sept. 13, 2024. Mr. Snyder had a gift of making those around him feel loved and important, especially his family. He loved to hunt and fish when he was younger. He also loved talking about old cars and the Harley motorcycles he owned. He adored spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, being in nature, watching movies or just talking. He and his wife were married for 53 years and 9 months and together for 54 years. They were always together watching their favorite TV shows, driving and chatting. Born July 13, 1943, he was the son of the late Alice (Shellenberg) and Charles Snyder.
He is survived by his wife: Donna Sue Snyder; four children: Walter McKay, Ronald Lee Snyder Jr., Rhonda (Jeffrey) Strubhart and Donald (Deserea) Snyder; five grandchildren: Zoey Jayne Strubhart, Mason Sandquist, Emmett Snyder, Scarlet Rose “Rosie” Snyder and Easton Lee Snyder; a sister: Kathleen Hawthorne of Belleville, Ill.; a brother: Edgar Snyder of Okawville, Ill.; two nieces: Joanne Snyder and Pookie (Eugene) Carr; a nephew: Joseph (Carol) Snyder; many other nieces and nephews; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Shepherd Hills Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
