Roth, Ronald

Ronald James Roth, 89, of Herculaneum died April 4, 2025, in Festus. Mr. Roth was a 1953 graduate of Festus High School. He retired as a salesman from Sears Roebuck in St. Louis. He was a long-time member of the Ozark Beagle Club. In 2012, he was inducted into the national Brace Hall of Fame for his contributions to the sport of beagling. He enjoyed spending time with his family, raising and training his beagles and working in his vegetable gardens. He was known for working with his hands, fixing things and for having the right tool for any job. Born Sept. 28, 1935, in Festus, he was the son of the late Marzette (Boyer) and Roy John Roth.

He is survived by his wife: Joyce (Copeland) Roth; a daughter: Christy (Chris) Church of Willard; a son: Michael “Mike” (Donna) Roth of Columbia, Ill.; a brother: Noel (Janet) Roth of Barnhart; a sister: Mary (the late David) Huesing of St. Charles; four grandchildren: Brittany (Danny) Perches, Morgan (Richard) Baldwin, Andrew (Agnes) Roth and Stacey Roth; two great-grandchildren: Vicente Perches and Sofia Perches; many nieces and nephews; and numerous other family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by a son: Robert “Bob” Roth.

Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. until a funeral service at 4 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely, officiated by Pastor Mark McMullin. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home.
