Follmer, Ronald

Ronald Anton Follmer, 84, of De Soto died May 15, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Follmer worked with his wife preaching ministries in the churches and communities of Williamsburg, Ky., Richmond, Va., Sioux City, Iowa, Crestwood, Mo., and retiring from De Soto Christian Church after 58 years of ministry. Born Nov. 13, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa, he was the son of the late Anton and Rena (Harris) Follmer. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Linda (Roberts) Follmer of De Soto; three sons: David Follmer of Pevely, Andrew “Drew” (Diana) Follmer of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Charles “C.J.” (Jennifer) Follmer of Crestwood; six grandchildren: Jenette Follmer, Rachel (Tim) Tibbles, Seth Follmer, Kaitlyn (Elliot) Imhoff, Karlie (Aaron) Chiodini and Micah Follmer; four great-grandchildren: Titus, Eleanor, Atticus and Shiloh; and a sister-in-law: Janice Follmer. 

He was preceded in death by a brother: Wayne Follmer. 

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, at De Soto Christian Church, 4151 Fountain City Road, in De Soto, officiated by Glen Hart and Matt Sutman. Private inurnment will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery Columbarium in De Soto. Memorials may be made to High Hill Christian Camp, marked in memory of Ron Follmer, at 20 Camp Lane, High Hill, 63350. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
