Robert Steven Adams, 70, of De Soto died Feb. 12, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Adams worked as a carpenter. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the First Baptist Church of De Soto. He was devoted to his faith and often shared his love for God with others. He was passionate about art, especially music. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, whom he called his best friend, his children and his grandchildren. Born July 17, 1954, in Sikeston, he was the son of Thelma (Brandt) Schettler of Florissant and the late Robert Eugene Adams. He was the stepson of Al Schettler of Florissant.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by his wife: Gabrielle “Gabe” (Tripp) Adams of De Soto; six children: Hannah (Daniel Luck) Adams of Festus, Aaron (Jennifer) Adams of Moscow Mills, Luke (Sara) Adams of De Soto, Jacob (Lindsey) Adams of Festus, Cody (Hannah) Pundsack of De Soto and Josh (Stephanie Whitmore) Pundsack of De Soto; a sibling: Vicki (Stu) Haupt of Wildwood; and 24 grandchildren: Paige Adams, Zoe Dake, Tre Dake, Stella Dake, Wesley McNeil, Legand Ammon, Legacy Ammon, Caleb Tate, McKenzie Jackson, Andrew Adams, Joel Tate, Aurora Luck, Evelyn Luck, Isabelle Luck, Abigail Adams, Lily Adams, Noriah Adams, Jonah Adams, Meira Adams, Nella Adams, Ezra Adams, Robbi Reando, Reese Reando and Emma Pundsack.
A memorial service is scheduled for noon today, Feb. 17, at First Baptist Church of De Soto, 2000 Grace Way. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of De Soto or to the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
