Robert Smith Blick, 90, of Ironton, died Oct. 16, 2023, at the Baptist Home of Arcadia Valley in Ironton. Mr. Blick was a graduate of Soldan High School in St. Louis. He served our country in the U.S. Army. After his time in the Army, he worked for Halben Food Company, where he later retired. Mr. Blick and his wife, Patricia, were members of the Windsor Baptist Church in Imperial for many years before moving to the Baptist Home of Arcadia Valley. He was a member of the JOY group at church and he taught Sunday School to the homebound. He had a love of sports and especially enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Born Aug. 25, 1933, in Anna, Ill., he was the son of the late Harley R. and Maude Nicola (Smith) Blick.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Patricia Annette Matthews Blick; a daughter: Dayna Lorraine Blick (James Cowins) of St. Louis; a grandson: Robert Paul Miller (Fiancée Kaila Murphy) of Arnold; a great-grandson: Jaxson David Miller; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Collin Blick and Leland Blick; and three sisters: Dorothy Ferrante, Helen Ferrante and Anita Barteau.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist Home Chapel. Burial will be in The National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks on a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Bryson Funeral Home in Pilot Knob.
