Robert Lee Thompson Jr., 56, of Festus died Dec. 15, 2025. Mr. Thompson worked for the Jefferson County Highway Division and was a Festus-Crystal City firefighter. Born Oct. 21, 1969, in Festus, he was the son of Joyce (Gowen) Thompson of Festus and the late Robert Thompson Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Cindy (Goff) Thompson of Festus; three children: Ashley (Zach Pashia) Thompson of Crystal City, Allison (David Smith) Thompson of Festus, Emily (Josh Kraus) Thompson of Festus; a grandchild: Madison Pashia of Crystal City; a sibling: Laurie Thompson of Festus; and a nephew: Dustin Thompson of Festus.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, at the Festus-Crystal City Elks Lodge 1721, 4 Elks Club, in Festus.
