Pryor, Robert

Robert Lee Pryor, 80, of Festus died March 17, 2025. Mr. Pryor retired from Chrysler and was a lifelong enthusiast of motor sports and model race cars. He had a deep passion for dirt track motorcycle racing and spent countless hours building electric model race cars. He was also an avid football fan and loved enjoying the game with his family. He was active in the ministry at First Church of God in De Soto, where he served in many roles such as driving the church bus to camp, teaching, helping at barbecues and playing on the church volleyball team. For the past 10 years, he served at Good News Community Church, where he built many friendships and shared kindness and community support. He will be remembered for his vibrant spirit and his many acts of service. Born Nov 11, 1944, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Louis Marion Pryor and Mary Elizabeth (Dennis) Pryor.

He is survived by his wife: Rita (McCosh) Pryor; two children: Cindy (Jerry) Paul and Dan (Traci Ponticello) Pryor; three stepchildren: Kimberly (Krodinger) Brown, Amy (Ray) Choate and Lawrence (Laura) Krodinger; four grandchildren: Gage Pryor, Kaelyb Pryor, Josh Govero and Isaac Pryor; four siblings: Roger (Mary Ann) Pryor, Ronald Pryor, Roy (Carol) Pryor and Linda (David) Burch; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by two children: Christopher and Jennifer.

A celebration of life is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a memorial service at noon Thursday, April 24, at Good News Community Church, 2793 Hwy. 61, in Festus, 63028. For those who wish to send floral tributes, deliveries may be made to the church from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, or from 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24. Memorial donations may be made to Good News Community Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
