Robert Eugene "Bob" Wilmoth, 93, of De Soto died Nov. 11, 2025, at de Greef Hospice House in St. Louis. Mr. Wilmoth was a plasterer and a member of LIUNA Local 110 for more than 75 years. He served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed working on his "hobby farm" in De Soto. Born Oct. 28, 1932, in Thebes, Ill., he was the son of the late Mildred (Chism) and Napolian "Poly" Wilmoth.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years: Phyllis J. (Lundgren) Wilmoth, whom he married on Feb.14, 1953, in Carbondale, Ill.
He is survived by three children: Cheryl Wilmoth of Affton, Cindy Somogye of Chesterfield and Angela (Gene) Meyer of Thompsonville, Mich.; five grandchildren: T.R. Minard, Anthony "Tony" Viliocco, Kendra (Seth) Dompierre, Kirstin (Carl) Meyer-Kaiser and Wesley (Catie) Meyer; and three great-grandchildren: Alyssa Minard, Holly Minard and Henry Dompierre.
He also was preceded in death by a sister: Frances Evelyn "Sis" Freeman; and five brothers: Lloyd Wilmoth, Glenn Wilmoth, John Wilmoth, Murle Wilmoth and Earl Wilmoth.
Services were held Nov. 16 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. today, Nov. 17 at the Roberts Township First Lutheran Cemetery 2, in Varna, Ill. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
