Robert Alan “Bob” Nash, 70, of Imperial died Feb. 22, 2025. As a teen, Mr. Nash had a passion for sports, particularly hockey, and earned himself the nickname “Bear” from his friends. He dreamed of opening his own sporting goods store; however, he discovered a talent for commercial art. A placement program at O'Fallon Technical School led him to begin working as a maintenance man, servicing liquor display ads for local bars. Later he was hired at EH Baare Co. and then moved on to Contico. Eventually, he found his place at Bodine Aluminum, where he worked as a mechanic in the industrial industry and spent the next 39 years dedicated to the field. He also ventured into real estate sales for many years. He and his wife enjoyed flipping homes and managing several commercial properties. He was known for his hands-on approach and commitment to his work. Mr. Nash was a natural storyteller and loved to share his experiences and pass on his knowledge. He enjoyed fishing with family and friends and attending Blues games. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic while still making time for his friends and family, especially his children. Born Dec. 21, 1954, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Willard and Ada (Hawkins) Nash.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Nancy (Hegard) Nash; children: Jennifer Nash (Jim) O’Neill, Robert (Katie Snyder) Nash and Steven (Jessica Palmer) Nash; seven grandchildren: Madelyn O’Neill (David) Emmons, Jaime O’Neill, Gillian O’Neill (Matthew) Florek, Alyssa O’Neill, Owen Nash, Nova Nash and Coda Nash; and two great-grandchildren: Jaxon Emmons and Brooklyn Emmons.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Richard Nash.
