Rita C. Boeving, 79, of De Soto died Oct. 23, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Boeving was a real estate agent and worked as a custodian for the Sunrise School District. She enjoyed watching her hummingbirds, searching for mushrooms, taking long walks in the woods, gardening and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born Nov. 20, 1943, in Bonne Terre, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Mary (Maciejewski) White.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Boeving Sr.
She is survived by four children: Renee Walker of Granite City, Ill., Robert “Bobby” (Heidi) Boeving of Festus, Richard (Denise) Boeving of De Soto and Ryan (Dawn) Boeving of De Soto; five siblings: Patricia (the late Don) Kozloski, Elaine (Conrad) Stromberg, Martha (Gary) Brune, Gloria (the late Chuck) Curneal and Doris (the late Allen) Shearin; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by five siblings: Rosemary White, Delores Salisbury, Margaret Lindsey, Edward (Annabelle) White and Richard (Melba) White.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a service at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N Main, in De Soto, officiated by Deacon Ed Boyer. Burial will follow in Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
